Make General Home Improvements Before You Put Your Home on the Market

Siding and Roof

Most garage doors are at the front of the house and will be the very first picture a potential buyer gets of the house. It is an improvement that can increase the asking price of the house and improve the aesthetic appeal greatly.

Make General Repairs

Take a walk through the house looking at it with a critical eye. Chances are, depending on the age of the home, there are some things that are in need of repair. Dripping faucets, leaky toilets, broken tiles or damaged floors and baseboards can all detract from the true beauty of the home. Make repairs throughout the house. It may only take an interior painting project to spruce up each room. Make sure that cabinet doors are all attached securely, and that countertops are in good shape.

All the Stuff that’s Hidden

Sometimes we forget to think about all those parts of the house that are not easily visible; but items like water heaters, plumbing and insulation can make or break a deal. It is a good idea to have the furnace serviced so that a current inspection sticker is visible. Repair or replace water heaters and make sure all the home’s plumbing is up to par.
